Vestiaire drops the commission

I guess most fashion addicts already have gotten the message that VC has dropped the commission massively

https://fashionunited.uk/news/retail/vestiaire-collective-lowers-prices-by-10-percent/2019040942613

With the Rebelle service really getting worse and worse, the price gouging, their inconsistent service, rejecting items randomly with totally false or made up reasons, just so you give them the items in commission (so you can't offer it on another website), increasing their commission and they now dropping the prices of items without consulting sellers, so sellers get even less, they seem to have maneuvered themselves into the out.

I read several complains on different sites about people buying items where the measurements were not given or incorrect and using the free resale service Rebelle offers, the same items in the same condition were then rejected by their "quality control" so the promise to be able to resell for free is absolutely worthless...

Personally I have removed my items from Rebelle, it was a bit of work since they only allow 5 pictures and often only accept 2 and VC demands that you show the label, so a lot of retaking of pictures required, but given Rebelle's horrendous service and treatment of customers, much preferable to the trouble selling through them causes.

On some forums people actively encourage others to make fake accounts and then not send the items or send something totally different, like worn out sneakers they then have to send back. I wouldn't recommend it, as they might check the IP and it is possibly not worth the trouble to going to your nearest coffee shop with free WiFi.

Just list somewhere else, seems Joli Closet and VC offer better pay outs, less inconsistent service, less rip of tactics, since the commissions are lower, the items also tend to be cheaper, the seller still gets a better payout, both sides are happy...

There is also Vide and while their commission is only 15% you have the problem that some buyers are less than honest and order the items to wear them, then do the return, if you get a damaged item back, you are out of luck as they will always side with the buyer. They allow 48 hours to return, not counting the day the item arrives, so if somebody needs an item for an event, for them it is a cheap "borrow" service and you might end up with a damaged item that has turned worthless. Not only might you get a damaged item back, you will also be stuck with postage costs as they only refund part of the postage costs.

HEWI

Wow, just checked my messages, apparently 5 people who weren't happy with HEWI and posted on Trustpilot had the reviews flagged as false, some apparently even had a response from HEWI and HEWI promised to make it right (so obviously real customers) I just checked it and now there is a flurry of posts claiming how great they are, usually from people with just 1 post... Obviously not shady at all and they are just fabulous... And that cough you hear, must be me having a cold... I guess HEWI must be paying them handsomely, I guess a website being paid by the supplier claiming to be independent and give real reviews is errrrr trustworthy... I used to sell on HEWI ages ago, until I found the real players, haven't listed anything there in ages because I simply can't deal with the staff, the site says approval happens within minutes, yeah, like their pay out happens after X amount of day. Totally fed up with messages saying "due to the age and condition of your item"...

Rebelle price gauging

Seems Rebelle has totally gone the way of price gouging now too, several of you have sent screen shots, the "argument" they use is "This recommendation is based on our experience selling similar items, on the popularity of the brand and on the items condition." Oddly enough if you then look it up on their website, you see other items, often much older and of inferior materials, listed for a much higher price, since they are getting a percentage, I can only assume that they want a quick turn over and are prepared to cater to the masses and sacrifice the sellers.  Or they might simply just have another student doing the job. It's actually something that seems to be happening frequently and judging from the comments I got, rather shamelessly with prince dumping that is beyond the pale. So if you are a seller, list in as many places as possible. If you are a buyer, check the item description, Google is your friends, you might find a way to contact the seller, i...

Trustpilot - Do NOT trust

Seriously, totally odd, I won't say crooked but the thought is hard to push away... Companies I rated highly and replied to their email to review them, the review was flagged and disappeared, after notifying the companies, apparently they had not upgraded the service... Companies who deliver horrendous services, well, if you rate them low, the reviews disappear the "automatic software" identified it... Personally, I am not relying on Trustpilot anymore, totally worthless
